“Maybe if you like it, you’ll Instagram it,” says Mike, as he brings me my breakfast.

I LOVE the idea of this: it’s look and taste. However, I cannot get over avacado’s texture to eat it sliced. I do love a good guacamole. Maybe I should start using it as a spread?

Uploaded pictures from day two of our Maui trip, and in no way am I embarrassed of the collage that Facebook put up in the feed. All food! I need more of those bananas in coconut milk in my life! Now!

Made this last night. I would have never thought to mix Dijion mustard and maple syrup to cook chicken in, but I’m glad someone did.

I’m also glad I didn’t allow my hate for mustard to keep me from trying it. Yuuuuummy!

I never realized there is a distinct difference between California and Florida oranges before moving to Minneapolis. I could only find Cali ones, which suck in comparison.

Until now….. Happy days!

The BEST waffle I’ve ever had in my life I make myself when we stay at the Best Western in Rochester, MN.

Seriously.

It makes the hours sitting in a hockey rink during camp sooooo worth it.

Jucy Lucy. So worth the wait.

American cheese stuffed in the middle of a burger patty. Cheddar cheese and bacon on top.

My cheese shot out the backend. Kind of disappointing but sooooo delicious.

I hate making things to bring for a group of people to eat when I don’t know most of them. Luckily, my salad was a hit! It had candied pecans, pears, grapes, and Gorgonzola cheese crumbles. All mixed together with a balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Yum. So glad I have some ingredients leftover!

Soul Daddy’sThe newest restaurant addition to the Mall of America that opened as a result of America’s Next Great Restaurant. This place had a huge line when it opened about a month ago, and congratulations to Jamawn J. Woods, but I just wasn’t amazed - sort of.I got the baked chicken with cheesy grits and green beans and a cornbread waffle. And I only got those options because I like cheese (though still hate grits) and green beans (but not cold ones). Their selections for sides leave something to be desired and definitely aren’t kid friendly. (No mac-n-cheese???!) From what I can recall, other than the cheesy grit the only other hot sides were kale and sweet potatoes. I would have gotten the sweet potatoes but they were still being cooked. The cold side options consisted of mainly cold pastas, which I just don’t prefer. Needless to say I didn’t each but two bites of each side. But that chicken! That chicken was amazing! And I would so order it again …. repeatedly. It was so juicy and flavorful. I can almost still taste it.Because of how damn good the chicken was, I’ll go back to try the other meats (ribs and pulled pork), get a cornbread waffle to go with it and be perfectly happy.Especially with the perfectly brewed SWEET TEA they have.
