This is what science can do for us. This baby was born deaf, and received a cochlear implant to try and give him the ability to hear.
This video shows the moment it was first turned on, and the first time he heard sound … the sound of his mother’s voice.

This warms my heart!
She lies. She isn’t sending anything nearly as cuddly.
It’s most likely a Save-the-Date card for her upcoming wedding.
Though I bet it will be just as cute.
Happy Birthday Lizard!
This girl, man. This girl. Boy has she added a lot to my life. Lots of laughs, tears, lessons, forgotten memories, etc. Through it all she’s been there and will remain so. Think and thin.
So precious omg.Jim Thome

He’s got to be one of the best people on the planet. I love this guy.

Hey look, Cliff Chiang has a Tumblr, and he’s posting artwork to it!
Smile Friday! - This photo was taken I think 3 years ago and is still as relevant as today.
Today was a wretched day. I have never been more pissed off at my job and frustrated about a situation that was not my fault but effects my world. Why people can’t simply do their jobs is completely beyond me, especially someone who is in a leadership role.
Anywho, I got in the car and the boy said something about me being up late tonight and I inquired. He’s taking me to X-Men: First Class tonight. Amazing how something so simple yet thoughtful can immediately start turning the day around.
40 Minutes and counting down…. Can’t. Wait.
Still haven’t decided if I’m going to completely nerd out and wear my shirt. We’ll see.
(Thanks Matt for bringing this photo back into my life!)

“I get worried for young girls sometimes; I want them to feel that they can be sassy and full and weird and geeky and smart and independent, and not so withered and shriveled.” — Amy Poehler, from an interview in Bust.
